Salim Nassif is a Lebanese cinematographer and designer whose work explores the quiet relationship between material, memory, and daily life.

After years spent behind the camera documenting people, places, and cultures, Nassif began turning his attention to objects questioning how something as simple as a garment or a leather piece can carry identity, ritual, and time.

He is the founder of Yawme (يومي), an androgynous design project rooted in Lebanese heritage and shaped by contemporary minimalism. The name comes from the Arabic word meaning “my day,” reflecting the idea that the objects we carry become part of our everyday lives. Through asymmetry, natural textures, and restrained forms, Nassif approaches design as an ongoing dialogue between tradition and the present.

His leather pieces are intentionally simple. They are made to be used, worn, and marked by life. Rather than resisting time, the material is allowed to age and evolve, revealing its character slowly through use.

For Nassif, design is not about creating objects to impress, but about creating pieces that quietly accompany everyday life.
