Collection: Michael Aoun

Saad Michael Aoun is a multidisciplinary Lebanese artist whose work spans painting, music, writing, and design. While studying electro-mechanical engineering in the former USSR, he co-founded a theatrical troupe and a Lebanese folk music ensemble, earning top honors at international festivals.

In 1983, he brought his design sensibility to the stage with the creation of the iconic Lebanese character Makhoul.

Michael’s art is driven by exploration—he resists fixed styles, constantly discovering new forms of expression. His paintings are found in collections across France, the USA, Ukraine, Russia, the UAE, England, and Lebanon.

Through canvas, stage, or melody, his work explores identity, memory, and beauty—bridging Lebanese heritage with a global artistic spirit.
