Collection: Maha Abou Chakra

Maha Abou Chacra is a visual artist who draws deeply from an Instinctive, childlike source of inspiration. She sees imagination and symbolic childhood language as liberating forces, guiding her into a world of innocence and emotional honesty. Her work tells stories with joy, forgiveness, and openness without judgment or expectation. Her colors are pure and free, springing from nature itself, from trees, flowers, and the silent spaces that reflect a deep love of life and self.

Holding a Diploma in Fine Arts from the Lebanese University (Rouche campus) and a Master's degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts (Furn El Chebbak branch), she is currently pursuing a PhD in the same field. Her passion for drawing and color began in early childhood and has always served as her expressive language-her personal path to happiness, self-love, and the universal love she continuously seeks with sincerity and devotion.

In her professional career, Maha heads the Exhibitions and Visual Arts Department at the Ministry of Culture and is an active member of the Syndicate of Lebanese Artists and the Association of Lebanese Artists and Sculptors (LAPS). She organizes expressive art workshops for children and advocates for the healing power of art. She has held solo exhibitions at Safana Gallery (2008) and Exodes Gallery (2019), and participated in many group shows, including the Autumn Exhibitions at the Sursock Museum. Her work has appeared in numerous cultural spaces such as Sodeco, Harmieh, Baakleen, and Tripoli. Even during the pandemic, she remained engaged through virtual exhibitions. She contributes regularly to national events like Francophonie Day and National Fine Arts Day at the UNESCO Palace, and collaborates with embassies, forums, and artist collectives across Lebanon.

Maha is also active in curating and organizing art exhibitions at venues Like the Baakline National Library and the Mazen Kiwan Project in Jbaa. Her recent exhibitions include Tripoli Capital of Arab Culture 20241, "Colors of the Renaissance" (2025), and "La femme", une one d'art during Francophonie Week. She continues to be a vital and heartfelt presence in the Lebanese art scene.
